Conservatives commit to 0.7% legislation in manifesto

The Conservative Party manifesto launched on 13 April has included a commitment to introduce legislation on 0.7% in the first session of a new parliament should they form the next government.

They say this legislation will commit the UK to deliver at least 0.7% of UK GNI as aid from 2013 onwards. No details on what else might go in their legislation have been divulged.

The commitment can be found in chapter 33 of the Conservative Manifesto

The Lib Dems have also committed to legislation on 0.7% in their manifesto released on 14 April, meaning that all three major UK parties have now made this pledge.
